Ruby Wedding at Hope Cove

July 24, 2009

It is amazing how many pictures you take over time. I was looking back through the various folders on the computer and came across a pdf file of a picture book I produced for my mum and dad back in 2006. If anything the pictures mean more now than they did then which is one of the nice things about photography, being able to revisit fond memories from time to time. All these pictures were taken with good old fashioned film and my trusted Canon EOS 30 or Bronica ETRSi.

Clevedon Pier

July 3, 2009

When the weather gets a bit moody and most sensible people go in doors to escape the rain especially those with camera, it is sometimes worth while staying out that little bit longer. The following three pictures taken of Clevedon Pier show the difference that can be achieved from changing the shutter speed and angle to create an impression from essentially the same spot. The first picture has a 4 second exposure, the second has a 21 second exposure causing the soft sky and water and the third has a 10 second exposure the “cotton wool’ effect of the water whilst still retaining some form to the waives.

Fort William, Scotland.

I love visiting Scotland when I get the chance. Having friends in Fort William is a bonus, if you ever get a chance to visit, pop into the Moorings Hotel, Fort William and say high to Donald, “Wee” John, “Whisky” John and “Laundry” John. Great place, lovely people.
